Depression...

The time has come and I realize, I am not returning to my beloved village on the plains to move in this week. To do a week & a half of recruitment. To go out & get ready for the semester with my friends. To have Samford Hall looking at me every time I walk downtown for Mellow Mushroom (there are none here and I'm so needing good pizza!), or go to Skybar, Bourbon or Quixotes.

Yes, there is a part of me that is glad that I don't have to spend a week hearing people argue over who met who and such and such. But it's more of the atmosphere of Auburn that I am missing. I vaguely remember 4 years ago, getting ready to move in at Teague Hall, early move in of course, so I could hopefully meet people & not be lost in Alabama alone. I had no clue over the 4 years I would meet some of the best people. Seriously, Auburn gave a lot to me, just like I gave a lot to it by out-of-state tuition.

I dread the first football game. I won't be there. Damn it, I love the football! My roommates make fun of me for making U of A jokes, but I'm telling you, the rivalry will never go away. I'm slowly trying to get them used to the fact that if Auburn is playing, the game is televised, it will be on the TV and there will be some problems if they change the channel. HAHA.

I have small plans to come for the UGA game. The one game I've made it to for all 4 years. I'm going to keep it up, and go a 5th. It's IN Auburn. Why would I pass that opportunity up?!?! I can eat all the things I've been missing, see all the people I enjoy being around, and watch some damn good SEC football with the Oldest Rivalry in the South. What could be a better trip home?

I hate having to grow up. Becoming an "adult" is starting to be overrated. HIGHLY overrated. I know what I'm doing is only going to help me in the future, but it's hard. I wish everyone I knew could come down and visit but I know that's not happening either. All I am glad for at this point in the game is Skype, Twitter, Facebook & Unlimited Texts.

The internship is going well...working a lot. There are some unique people. I've seen a lot of fits be thrown by guests & had one kid try to escape the ride. It's pretty funny. Ask me. I'll tell you. Other than that, life in general is calm. Which is nice. And sooo what I needed :)

Dear Auburn- Thanks.
XOXO- Alum.

Slow Jam...I am an alum...ni.

It is OFFICIAL. I am an alum. How sweet a word.

What have I done with my time? Oh...welll... I moved ALL my crap from school over here back home. Seriously, I had way to much crap for my own good. And it just looks like it has exploded everywhere. I can't win. Then I had a graduation fiesta. It was awesome. Some neighbors showed up. Friends showed up. Was legit. Got some gifts and gift cards.
Then I accidentally slept through Allie's party. I still feel REALLY badly about that :(
Then I got my car serviced, tried to write some thank you notes. Typical. Mom and I rode bikes today. The most activity I had.

I leave for Disney in 16 days. A smidge above 2 weeks. Where did the time go?! I can't believe I am going still and I am super excited. And I am super excited to go see the Harry Potter World open. Yes, call me a nerd. I will gladly embrace the crap out of that.

I have read the 3 Chelsea Handler books and LOVED them. She is amazingly hilarious. Everyone should read them, but prepare to be offended. She talks like a sailor (so do I) and her life is somewhat hard to believe but you have to know it is all true. I want to see her stand up show one day, and go sit in her studio audience. I think she is awesome & partially why I partake in Belvedere. Yes, I am a child of marketing. HAHA. I don't mind. I still will drink Grey. :D

Anyways, going to the lake more than likely this weekend. When I go to Orlando, I will give the address for the website I made for all my Disney blogging :)

xoxo

Oh Alejandro...

Let's recap:

Graduation is FRIDAY. WOOO!!!!!! Can't believe it. 4 years down & then I'm off to Disney. I had not said a damn word about going to anyone, especially my professors, and I got a paper back today that said "Good Luck in Orlando!"...I wonder about the Spanish department & their secrets...

Oh well. I have my last final at 4 this evening & I will be done. Hopefully all the professors get their grades in in time. After the final I am going to more than likely go drink. Why? Because damn it, it's been 4 years and I hardly ever went out. I deserve some kind of reward for this at least. And no, you are NOT allowed to say Disney Intern is a reward.

I am melancholy about leaving. A good friend of mine left today for Birmingham and we didn't get to say bye. I am going to miss her dearly, as well as my whole sorority "family"- my little and so on. Lucky for me, I know that they plan to visit at some point in the next 7 months :D Other than that, it is hard to imagine life not on the Plains starting in August, with stressful rush, new little babies for us all to fawn over & then school, socials, formals, and life starts up again.
My mom & I talked the other day when I went home to say HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY YOUR GIFT IS MY GRADUATING IN 4 YEARS! (she loved it, I could tell) and she told me she couldn't have been more pleased I picked AU for school. Hah, it's like a slogan. AU for SCHOOL! Anywho...she informed me that she is glad I turned UGA down & came out here. They suck anyways (no offense Dawg fans, but really...you teach your students how to BARK during orientation!) :D

But yes, 4 years well spent. 4 years worth of student debt gladly earned. Out of state tuition be damned, I could not have been happier to come here and learn/play with some of the best memories around. I mean who isn't pleased that Tim Tebow will never know what it is like to beat Auburn? I for one am. I'm glad we beat Bama so many years in a row and this year we came so close to beating them again. We had it in those last 2 min. We will get them next year (I hope) at their stupid Bear loving stadium. Among other things of course, AU has been good.

Now to bed I go, to ace the final in the afternoon. To graduate on Friday :D

Life is indeed, becoming good

A birthday & Then 14 Days...

So...my birthday was yesterday. I'd like to say it was overly amazing. For the most part, it was pretty awesome. I mean, my dad stayed an extra day in the United States for me so he could be here & not miss it. That was soooo nice. I could not be more thankful. I got to spend a wonderful dinner with my family and my sorority big sister who I consider family anyways. It was wonderful.

The not so great part? I missed Taylor Swift being in Auburn because of an older women who decided to ignore all normal rules of driving and parking lot etiquette of looking behind you when you back out of a parking space & she hit my car. Win some, lose some clearly was the moral of yesterday. There isn't a HUGE amount of damage, just pride hurt, a dent & scratches. Bad part (I know, what could be worse than being hit?!) is my shoulder, the one I had surgery on, is really acting up. I hope it dies down after a few days. The shock from everything I am sure is the problem, but if not, my doctor will look it all over. Just another frustration and complication to add onto my already busy life.

In other news, we are happily winding down the semester and inching closer and closer to graduation. Scary. Everyone I know is doing different things. A friend of mine is going to be an Au Pair in London (Surrey) for the whole summer. What an incredibly awesome experience. I am so excited for her because honestly, what I would give to live abroad is a bit ill.

I am going to be off to Orlando for a different internship experience. Ask my about it & I'll be more than happy to share :) It should be fun and entertaining, but a learning experience. Then in January I'll either be coming back to Atlanta or going who knows where. One of those decisions I'll have to make when the time comes.

Anywho....Everything happens for a reason I presume. Some things happen to show the glaringly obvious errors in your everyday life I would hope, and some are there to show you that you might be beat down from 6 job interviews and 2 job offers but only wanting one thing in the end. And not the actual job. Typical. Others are there to show you that you might think you're happy but nothing is ever complete without bumps in the road and some bumps aren't going to let you ever move on. Things keep occurring and I have no idea how to really handle it. My own fault clearly. I wish the answer would show up and be right there. To bad life is never that simple. Alas, maybe I'll just figure everything out after May 14. When I have time to have a life. Because clearly, that is not now.

There is so much product in your hair I could season a wok...

Oh hey there little blog. At this record setting pace I may end up with 12 entries and then quit til next year.

I have been incredibly, undeniably, BUSY. And not just, running errands odds & ends busy. I could only wish for that. It is the busy of: You may notice a running theme....
  • 5-7 pages + Bibliography in Spanish research paper
  • A 2 page report on a topic TBA by professor in Spanish
  • 750-1200 words in Spanish creative story
  • Reading 3 stories a week in SPANISH
  • 8 page business proposal in Spanish plus investor presentation (in Spanish)
  • 8-10 minute presentation in Spanish on Business
  • Commercial for Business proposal of 30-45 seconds in Spanish
  • Translations in Spanish-English, English-Spanish
  • Finance Tests/Quizzes (luckily in English)
  • Moving out of my miserable living situation home as fast as possible after graduation
  • Sorority.
  • Mandatory events from Sorority
At least when I had surgery last semester, there was a simple excuse for everything: Oh, I'm sorry. My dominant right arm, you know, the one in the sling here, isn't functioning properly today/yesterday/on the due date. I will have it to you within 3 days. But no. None of these teachers had me last semester & know that having 3 permanent anchors in your shoulder can still cause serious problems in your day to day life because according to the dr, I won't be "at full use until September at the earliest".
Making matters worse, I fell on the damn shoulder. So it makes sleeping more painful, moving more painful, and when I roll my arm, I hear awkward clicking. It should be a banner appointment in May.

BUT....the light at the end of the tunnel is there. May 14, 10 am. My time will be here. I will be wearing some tacky robe & gown (I did get the sorority thing but I got the chords too. I hate standing out obnoxiously so sometimes) and a dinky hat that seriously won't fit. Everyone know's they don't fit. But I will be ready to walk across that stage and have the Jordan Hare announcer say my name and I will literally tackle Jay Gouge for more than one reason. What are those?
  1. NO MORE OUT OF STATE TUITION. Seriously. I've looked at the little "pay plans". Since I'm not starting a cushy job right away, I'm basically scrapping it all together to pay. AWESOME. Not.
  2. NO MORE PAPERS IN SPANISH!!!!! I am telling you. I think the whole damn department got together and decided to screw over the ones doing a capstone and said HAHA! Let's make this semester miserable & give them an obnoxious workload that makes them want to die.
  3. Going Alumni from the Sorority
  4. I will also tackle him for my last moments of pent up "I hate you & Jay Jacobs for firing Tommy" anger, which will turn into a hug for hiring Gene Chizik. It turns out to be a win win here.
I am sad to leave Auburn, but I know going to Orlando will be a good change for the time being. So War Damn :)

Speaking of win-wins....I am loving Glee so far this season. The Madonna episode was a good episode 2, considering the first one back was a bit of a downer. They need to get rid of Jesse St. James in my personal opinion, but I have until June 8th (season finale) to see what develops. And hey, Idina, will you sing next time you appear? That'd be awesome.

This is long enough. Peace out girl scouts.
